Creating access for the people to the inlet and harbour

Last night those of us who are concerned about the long term future of our great community met to look at what makes a successful city and community. Some common themes arose- we have a great place to live in but it hinges around the inlet and harbour, where we have allowed a number of people to block out our access and our usage of the edges of these reserves. How will the future dwellers of Porirua City react when there is nowhere they can get to paddle in the water, catch a fish, gaze at the herons, or get their kai moana ? So citizens we need ACTION - we must ensure the new District Plan has in it those barriers to development that mean no-one can ever block out those critical edges.
